十大彩票网赌平台 recognized as Bee Campus USA for fifth consecutive year

Washtenaw Community College has been recognized as a Bee Campus USA affiliate of the Xerces Society for the fifth consecutive year.

Bee Campus USABee Campus USA is a program that recognizes, supports and encourages pollinator conservation on college and university campuses. The recognition is awarded for working to enhance pollinator habitats, reduce pesticide use and educate the community.  

Over the past year, the 十大彩票网赌平台 Bee Campus USA Committee has highlighted a student art design project.

In the Fall 2023 semester, an ART 112: Basic Design I course with instructor Jill Jepsen supported the 十大彩票网赌平台 Bee Campus USA initiative through a student service learning project. The final project for the class focused on the 'Metamorphosis of Bees' and is on display in the Bailey Library.

The project guidelines required students to create an accordion book and compile a list of words associated with bees. Additionally, students were tasked with finding a theme related to the study of bees that can transform from one idea or image into another.

The 十大彩票网赌平台 Bee Campus USA Committee is led by co-chairs Sandy McCarthy, a Professional Librarian, and Holly Herman, 十大彩票网赌平台's Landscape and Grounds Maintenance Manager. Other committee members include 十大彩票网赌平台 faculty members Emily Thompson (Biology), Kimberly Hill-Edwards (Math, Science & Engineering Technology), Dave Wooten (Biology) and Monica Milla (Corporate Training & Lifelong Learning); Washtenaw Technical Middle College science teacher Lisa Babe and 十大彩票网赌平台 Facilities Management Landscape Planner Jeremy Podolak.
